NBA legends Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade were on the verge of exchanging verbal blows at one another on Tuesday over an argument regarding statistics that matter to an NBA player. Fortunately, Shaq was able to slip in the magic word.

For The Big Diesel, the only thing that matters is winning the title, especially to older players. Wade seemed to take offense to it at first. But Shaq calmed him down with a single word.

Of course, Shaq is fond of such debates, especially with fellow NBA on TNT mainstay Charles Barkley. The four-time champion doesn't shy away from forcing his opinions down the throats of his foes. Such debates have not turned into physical fights. But they have turned very serious on numerous occasions.

But against Dwyane Wade, Shaq was more calm and collected. Perhaps he doesn't want to ruin his brotherhood with the guard, who helped him win a championship with the Miami Heat in 2006. Also, credit to The Flash as well for being not as confrontational as Barkley. So there was really no reason for Shaq to let things escalate.

But who knows? Maybe in the near future, both of these NBA icons will finally go at it? That would surely make for some great entertainment.
