EA Sports will be putting female golfers at the forefront of their golf sports game PGA Tour.

In partnership with the Ladies' Professional Golfers' Association, or the LPGA, EA Sports will feature lady golfers and championships under the LPGA in glorious high-def next-gen console graphics. This will be the first time that the LPGA Tour will be represented in a video game in such detail, a landmark for PGA Tour.

“We’re thrilled that the LPGA Tour is coming back to EA SPORTS PGA TOUR especially with the inclusion of a major global tournament like The Amundi Evian Championship,” says Brian Carroll, the LPGA’s senior vice president of global media distribution. “EA SPORTS has done a great job in continuing to expand female representation in the various modes throughout the game and featuring women’s golf in an authentic and modern way.”

PGA Tour will be adding more female golfers to its roster and will be featuring The Amundi Evian Championship, one of the five championships in the LPGA. The new roster includes 2019 Amundi Evian Champion Jin Young Ko.

“I’m beyond excited to be included as one of the female golfers in EA SPORTS PGA TOUR,” says Ko. “Women’s golf is growing so fast and having us included in this game is a great opportunity to reach fans all around the world. I can’t wait to see how it turns out – and I can’t wait to play the game!”

This milestone in female representation in sports video games follows NBA 2K22‘s celebration of the WNBA's 25th-anniversary celebration. We do hope to see more of this in the future, with diversity represented in video games as it is in real life.
