A bug in Apex Legends led to the banning of accounts in a seemingly random fashion. Panicked players contacted EA support immediately. Weirdly enough, EA Help responded saying that their accounts appeared not banned on their end. Thankfully, Electronic Arts were quick to address the issue, restoring the accounts of the banned players. However, the cause of the bug continues to be a mystery up to now.

Apex Legends unfair bans affected a lot of innocent players; EA Help opens a special thread for them

The "Help I just got randomly banned" Megathread from apexlegends

Sometimes, disasters happen with no apparent reason. For some Apex Legends players, the disaster came in the form of unfair random bans on their accounts. Some people just woke up finding out that they can't log in to Apex Legends servers, with the error message telling them that EA has just banned them. Meanwhile, EA Help tells them when they report the issue that their accounts remain active on their side. The confusing situation prompted EA to open a special customer support thread on Reddit. To be fair with EA, this customer support thread helped many players regain their accounts. EA's swift response prevented a social media disaster that could have blown up had they not taken special steps to address the issue.

Meanwhile, even though EA successfully unbanned many of the affected players, they still haven't figured out what caused the Apex Legends bug. Ever since the release of the highly-anticipated Legacy update, Apex Legends players have had to wrestle with new bugs and glitches that have since plagued the game. Legacy introduced the infamous Bocek Bow (which has just recently been nerfed) and the well-received Arena game mode.  Hopefully, whatever caused the bug would just naturally fix itself, especially if EA cannot pinpoint the problem. At the very least, we know that affected players of the bug can easily get their accounts back through this help desk.
