The Philadelphia Eagles struggled but found a way to defeat the New York Giants on Thursday night, 22-21. While the Eagles earned the win, there’s still a resounding problem with this team.

Gino Cammilleri, the host of the daily Locked On Eagles Podcast, pointed out that this Eagles team has a problem on its hands regarding their inability to play well on different units at the same time:

Cammilleri: I think that there is a real problem that this team cannot get more than one unit ready to play at any given time, because when I look at this special teams unit, they once again let this team down. You saw how that Jake Elliott miss completely took the air out from under this team.

The defense, once again, 21 points is too much against Daniel Jones. Allowing that 80-yard run when they were backed up by their own end zone was terrible. Allowing them to get out from the 2-yard line when Doug Pederson went for it on fourth-and-short; he trusted his defense to make a stop and they once again couldn’t do it. You have to contextualize the game, and 22-21 isn’t an acceptable victory because I don’t think the Giants even did enough to put up seven points on offense. I think a lot of it was shooting yourself in the foot when it came down to it. Missed field goals, bad returns, allowing the team to lose the field position battle. When it came down to it, the defense allowed way too many chunk plays. Once again, I don’t know what it is if they can’t get the right set of personnel out there or if they don’t have the correct personnel, but when I look at it, I just think they’re still doing the same things over and over again.
