The Philadelphia Eagles are just a few months removed from their first Super Bowl win in franchise history after topping the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52.

However, this has still somehow received some doubts tossed in their direction from former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo voicing that he doesn't believe the Eagles can handle that type of success. It didn't take long for Philadelphia to respond as defensive back Jalen Mills stated during an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio last Thursday that McAdoo's comments are “kind of irrelevant.” (h/t Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk)

Mills was asked about McAdoo’s thoughts on the Eagles during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday night.

“As far as the outside noise, I think we handled that well this past year, and it showed,” Mills said. “. . . It’s kind of irrelevant.”

McAdoo's comments do seem to have any precursor as to why he has decided to voice that in the direction of the franchise. The Eagles may not have won a Super Bowl prior to that, but the team showed plenty of mental fortitude along the way to getting to that point. The team was able to overcome the loss of their star quarterback Carson Wentz late in the regular season and rally behind backup Nick Foles.

This could have easily seen their situation go south with that deflating of a loss to their team in their driving offensive force. Instead, the team had full support and confidence that Foles can lead the charge to which he played some of the best football of his career. In fact, his play was a huge reason as to why the Eagles were able to secure their Super Bowl win as he earned the Super Bowl MVP award.

The doubters like McAdoo will be there, but it's is quite evident that the Eagles are more than confident and ready to push towards repeating as champions.
