The books had the Seattle Seahawks as 6.5-point favorites against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. The Seahawks wound up winning 23-17, perhaps ruining the nights of those who bet on Seattle. Perhaps nobody could have had more bad luck than a bettor who put his money on the Seahawks and as a result, lost half a million bucks, per Ben Fawkes of The Sports Betting Network.

21 seconds. Or maybe even 12 seconds. That was the amount of time separating this particular bettor from gaining $500,000. Instead, he lost all of it.

The Seahawks were up 23-9 until Richard Rogers scored a 33-yard touchdown off a Carson Wentz pass. This dude must have been sweating buckets already at this point.

And then, the killing blow. The Eagles ran the ball as Miles Sanders scored the two-point conversion with 12 seconds remaining for a final score of 23-17. This man's half a million dollars just dissipated into thin air. Perhaps his heart shattered into pieces as well.

Did somebody check up on him yet? That must be the most heartbreaking thing ever.

The Eagles certainly didn't have any reason to score on the final seconds. Or maybe they knew about this insane bet and just wanted to make him feel miserable.

Nonetheless, Seattle did more than enough to fend off Philadelphia on Monday. D.K. Metcalf was his usual star self and that was on full display with his insane catch right here.

The Seahawks are now winners of seven straight over the Eagles. Seattle improves to 8-3 on the season, as they sit atop the NFC West. Meanwhile, Philly has dropped to 3-7-1 on the year.
