Veteran quarterback Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles could not take down the surging Seattle Seahawks at home in Week 12. With the Eagles coming up short by the score of 17-9, Philadelphia is now just 5-6 on the season with crunch time looming large.

Coming as no surprise, however, Wentz took full responsibility for his team's most recent loss.

“I have to be better,” Wentz told reporters at the podium after his team's Week 12 defeat at the hands of the Seahawks, via ABC 6 in Philadelphia. “I have to lead this team better. I gotta protect the football better, we can't put it on the ground the way we did. It starts with me. I'm frustrated.”

Wentz finished the loss by completing 33 of his 45 passing attempts en route to 256 yards through the air, one touchdown, and a pair of interceptions. It is also worth noting that Wentz suffered a hand injury that will ultimately require further evaluation and testing.

Luckily for Wentz and company, though, the arch-rival Dallas Cowboys have continued to keep the Eagles alive while doing so once again on Sunday evening in Massachusetts. With the Cowboys falling to a nearly even 6-5 on the season, thanks to the team's most recent loss to the heralded New England Patriots; the struggling Eagles somehow sit just one game back of Dallas for the NFC East division lead.

It will likely take about eight or nine wins for the Eagles to reach the postseason in 2019, something that actually seems doable despite the year that this team has had so far.
