Donovan McNabb is smiling. The Philadelphia Eagles are headed back to the postseason as the 2019 NFC East champions. Thanks in large part to the play of veteran quarterback Carson Wentz, a banged-up Eagles team will host a playoff game.

Adding to his memorable string of performances down the stretch of the 2019 regular season, Carson Wentz reached the postseason on Sunday afternoon against the rival New York Giants. Not only that, but Wentz even broke one of former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb's franchise records.

With the Eagles defeating the Giants by the score of 34-17 on Sunday afternoon in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Wentz led the way with 289 yards through the air alongside one touchdown pass and a 95.5 QBR. Wentz also completed 23 of his 40 passing attempts as a result of the Week 17 win on the road.

Because the Eagles couldn't possibly be more injured at the moment, Carson Wentz certainly did not have his usual cast of wideouts for the final few games of the regular season. With that reality hindering Wentz and the rest of the Eagles offense in Week 17, Philadelphia was once again forced to primarily go with wide receiver Greg Ward Jr., tight end Dallas Goedert and running backs Boston Scott and Miles Sanders against the Giants.

It is also worth noting that Philadelphia managed to keep the archrival Dallas Cowboys out of the postseason by capturing the NFC East crown on Sunday.
