A year ago, there were some who felt that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was a top five player in the NFL. Well, after a second straight injury-shortened season, Wentz's stock has fallen quite a bit.

NFL Network revealed the first few players of their top 100 list heading into 2019, and Wentz came in at 96th.

Talk about a steep drop.

Wentz was limited to 11 games this past season as a result of a back injury, throwing for 3,074 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 69.6 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 102.2.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at North Dakota State, was originally selected by the Eagles with the second overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He went on to start all 16 contests during his rookie campaign, finishing with 3,782 yards, 16 touchdowns and 14 picks while completing 62.4 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 79.3.

Then, the following year, Wentz participated in 13 games before a torn ACL knocked him out. Prior to the injury, Wentz was enjoying an MVP-caliber season, having thrown for 3,296 yards, 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 60.2 percent of his passes and recording a passer rating of 101.9.

Of course, Nick Foles relieved Wentz and proceeded to lead the Eagles to their first ever Super Bowl title. He also stepped in for Wentz this past year and led Philadelphia to an upset win over the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

But now, Foles is gone, and Wentz will simply have to stay healthy.
