The Philadelphia Eagles are once again in another tough position as star quarterback Carson Wentz is dealing with another injury as he has a back fracture that has put his availability for the rest of the season in jeopardy.

According to Les Bowden of the Philadelphia Inquirer, this is apparently not the first time that Wentz has dealt with this type of injury as it occurred before during his collegiate dates at North Dakota State.

Although this doesn't necessarily mean much in terms of his current injury, it does shed some light that he has had previous back issues even before his NFL career. This should at least make the Eagles more aware that this should be something to keep an eye more carefully to avoid this becoming a trend for him that derails him for reaching his full potential along with leading the franchise to much success in the process.

Wentz is currently dealing with a spinal compression fracture that will not need surgery but will take around three months to heal completely. He has already been designated with a doubtful label for this week's game against the Los Angeles Rams, which should put backup Nick Foles into play as the starter. If the Eagles were to fall to the Rams, this could also likely lead to the team deciding to shut him down for the last two games with the playoffs no longer being an option that point.

This may push the Eagles to take a more precarious approach to the entire matter given that Wentz has now suffered two major injuries in each of the last two seasons. It may also lead to the 25-year-old deciding to take another approach with how he plays to avoid further putting himself in these positions where injuries like this can occur moving forward in his career.
