Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is hoping to spark a resurgence on offense in the 2020 NFL Season. Of course, not remains to be seen whether or not he will get some assistance from wide receiver Alshon Jeffery.

Aside from the rough year of recovery from Lisfranc surgery, there has been plenty of speculation regarding Jeffery's relationship with his quarterback. According to NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark, Wentz is looking forward to getting to work :

“Yeah, I’ve talked with Alshon. Alshon’s doing well, obviously coming back from that injury. Hoping he can be himself and just keep on rehabbing. But I’m confident that he will. And he’s doing well. He’s in a good place and I feel confident in his ability to be back out there helping the team. I’m excited for that. Yeah, I’m excited for Alshon.”

Rumors started to swirl regarding the tumultuous relationship between the Eagles teammates during the 2019 campaign. Although the former has done what he can to dispel this notion, it remains to be seen if the rapport between the two is beyond fixing.

The Eagles reportedly attempted to trade Jeffery throughout the offseason. Unfortunately, it seems the market was not too high on a 30-year-old wideout in the midst of dwindling production that also happens to be coming off injury. As a result, it appears general manager Howie Roseman has opted instead to take his chances.

Jeffery is now set to resume his role as the No. 1 option in the passing game for Wentz. Philadelphia is hoping that they have formed one of the more talented receiver trios in the league with Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, and rookie Jalen Reagor.
