The Philadelphia Eagles have been busy re-tooling their roster this offseason as they prepare to defend their title. Among the notable additions was wide receiver Mike Wallace.

Wallace is known for being one of the fastest players in the NFL. However, quarterback Carson Wentz admitted that he is even faster in person, according to Dave Zangoro of NBC Sports Philadelphia:

Today, when asked which wide receivers have stood out to him, Carson Wentz mentioned Mike Wallace. Said the veteran WR looks even faster in person than on film.

It is exciting to see Wallace has not lost a step entering his 10th year in the league. It is also encouraging that Wentz is already enamored with the idea of lofting throws downfield to a player like Wallace. Given his arm strength, he should have no problem getting the ball to his new wideout.

Wallace has long established himself as one of the NFL's premier speedsters. It served him well in his debut season with the Baltimore Ravens alongside cannon-armed quarterback Joe Flacco. Unfortunately, Wallace experienced a bit of a down season after finishing the 2017 campaign with 52 receptions for 748 yards and four touchdowns. That said, perhaps a change of scenery could be just what he needs to get his legs back under him.

Wallace certainly adds an explosive dynamic to the offense that Philadelphia did not necessarily have last season. His ability to take the top off opposing defense could pay enormous dividends for wide receivers Alshon Jeffrey and Nelson Agholor as well.
