The 2017 NFL season has been an incredible ride for the Philadelphia Eagles with the team arguably the best in the league heading into Week 13. Carson Wentz and company have dominated the competition this year as they continue to pave their way back into the playoffs.

Along with the Eagles on the verge of winning to the NFC East division title, the team is seeing their second-year quarterback quickly turn into a superstar. Wentz has already far exceeded expectations in his second season with an opportunity to make franchise history in the weeks ahead.

According to Pro Football Reference, Wentz is five touchdown passes away from tying the franchise record for touchdown passes in a season. The 24-year-old has 26 passing touchdowns heading into Week 13's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

With the way Wentz has been playing up to this point in the season, that touchdown record in Philadelphia may very well be as good as broken. The Eagles leader under center is playing so well right now that he's getting legitimate consideration for NFL MVP and has been mentioned in the same breath as Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees as one of the league's elite quarterbacks.

Wentz potentially making franchise history aside, the Eagles have an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot on Sunday. If the Eagles can get the best of Russell Wilson and company on the road or least come away with a tie, Philadelphia will win the NFC East division. Even a Dallas Cowboys loss in Week 13 will clinch it for Philadelphia.

This season is shaping up to one of the best in recent memory for the Eagles. The team may quickly turn their attention from clinching a playoff spot to competing for a Super Bowl title after this weekend with Wentz etching his name in the record books along the way.
