Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Chris Long is under contract for 2019, but whether or not he actually plays is another discussion.

The 34-year-old is not yet sure if he will suit up next season:

“I’m pretty undecided, but from the looks of things they’re going to make it hard for me in my favorite city,” said Long, according to Jarrett Bell of USA TODAY Sports. “We’ll see.”

Long says that his desire to play has actually waned a bit over the last month:

“In March, I really wanted to play,” said Long. “Now, I don’t know.”

And as far as Long attending organized team activities? You can probably count him out for that regardless of what happens:

“I definitely am not feeling like going to OTAs,” he said. “We’ll see what happens. If there’s any place that will make you try to do it again, it’s Philly. But it’s tough.”

Long is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played all 16 games, totaling 23 tackles, 6.5 sacks and a couple of forced fumbles. He has spent the last two seasons with the Eagles, winning the Super Bowl with the club during his first year in which he finished with 28 tackles, five sacks and four forced fumbles.

The Santa Monica, Ca. native, who played his collegiate football at the University of Virginia, was originally selected by the St. Louis Rams with the second overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft.

He spent the first eight years of his career with the Rams before joining the New England Patriots for one season in the 2016-17, going on to win a Super Bowl.

He signed with Philadelphia that offseason.
