Dallas Goedert of the Philadelphia Eagles was attempting to enjoy some time with his family on Friday before he became involved in a peculiar situation. According to Mike Kaye of NJ.com, Goedert was sucked punched at a restaurant while he at dinner with his family.

Seeing all of the reports about the incident, it doesn't seem like Goedert did anything to provoke whoever hit him. At the least, the pass-catching tight end appears to be fine and didn't suffer any serious injuries from the altercation.

On the other hand, it hasn't been revealed if the culprit behind hitting Goedert was arrested or not. Also, the reasoning behind the person sucker-punching Goedert remains unclear at this time. It will be worth monitoring to see if more details about the situation are unveiled in the near future.

Goedert is entering his third season with the Eagles as he comes off of the best season of his career in 2019. The former second-round pick hauled in a career-high 58 receptions, 607 yards, and five touchdowns.

In his rookie season with the Eagles in 2018, Goedert caught 33 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns. Given that he is the No. 2 tight end on Philadelphia's roster behind Zach Ertz, Goedert's numbers thus far are a bit more impressive.

For the third consecutive season, Goedert could see an even larger role in Doug Pederson's offense in 2020. Similar to everyone else, Goedert is attempting to enjoy his offseason despite the unusual circumstances behind it.

However, even though he was involved in an unfortunate incident on Friday, at least he and his family weren't seriously injured.
