Most people would consider Los Angeles Rams superstar Aaron Donald to be the best defensive tackle in the NFL. After all, Donald has made First-Team All-Pro in five of his six seasons and is already a two-time Defensive Player of the Year. However, new Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay has a different opinion.

When asked about Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox on Instagram Live, Slay called his teammate ā€œthe best All-Around D-tackle in the league.ā€

To be fair, Slay did admit that he thinks Donald is the best pass-rushing defensive tackle in the league and Detroit Lions DT Damon Harrison is the best run stopper at the position. However, he emphasized that Cox's all-around game separates him from his competitors.

Cox and Slay both played together in college at Mississippi State where they both received All-SEC honors. Both prospects have become stars at their respective positions in the NFL, with Slay making three Pro Bowls in seven seasons with the Lions and Cox making five-straight Pro Bowl appearances in the last five years.

The two former teammates are back together again after the Eagles traded for Slay back in March in exchange for a third- and fifth-round pick. Philadelphia then signed the 29-year-old cornerback to a three-year deal worth $30 million.

As for Cox, his dominance continued in 2019 when he recorded 40 tackles, 10 QB hits, 3.5 sacks and three forced fumbles for the Eagles. Although Cox was named a Pro Bowler, his 3.5 sacks were his lowest season total since his second year in 2013.
