Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles announced that the 2018 NFL season would be his last. However, he may want to reconsider after the training camp he has had thus far.

Sproles is looking to come back strong after an injury-riddled 2017 campaign. According to NFL Network's James Palmer, his teammates are confident he can return to form.

Want to know how impressive Darren Sproles has looked coming off his ACL injury from last year? Players told me hasn’t lost a step and is just as quick as he’s always been. Zach Ertz told me of Sproles who is now 35, “He’s Benjamin Button.”

The reports should hardly come as any surprise. Sproles has always been a bit of an anomaly throughout his career in the NFL. However, even the pint-sized powerhouse had begun to question his playing status after suffering a broken arm and torn ACL on the same play. Fortunately, it appears he has come back as strong as ever.

The Eagles have done some re-tooling to the backfield since Sproles' injury. They managed to bring in former Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi as their potential workhorse moving forward. However, Philadelphia should have no problem finding touches for Sproles thanks to his versatile skill set as both a runner and receiver. Not to mention, his prowess on special teams will give the Eagles another advantage.

There is no doubt Sproles is looking to end his career on a high note. That said, it will be interesting to see if his teammates step up their efforts to keep him around a bit longer after this season.
