Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles may not be the same impactful player he was a couple of years ago, but he still wants to play one more season in the NFL, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

Sproles was originally expected to retire after this season, but Mortensen reports he has told teammates and staff that he may want to play another year.

The 35-year-old played in just six games this season due to a hamstring injury, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown while hauling in 15 receptions for 160 yards and a pair of scores.

Sproles played in Week 1 but was then sidelined for most of the year, returning with five games left in the regular season. His return seemed to spark the Eagles, though, as Philadelphia went 4-1 over its final five weeks to sneak into the playoffs.

Sproles joined the Eagles in 2014 and proceeded to make three consecutive Pro Bowl appearances with the team, mainly due to his prowess in the return game. He totaled four kick return touchdowns over his first two seasons in Philadelphia.

The Waterloo, Ia. native, who played his collegiate football at Kansas State University, was originally selected by the San Diego Chargers in the fourth round (130th pick overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft.
