The Philadelphia Eagles are a team on the rise in NFC with promising young quarterback Carson Wentz leading the way under center and a talented group around him.

Unfortunately, during Sunday's game against the division rival New York Giants, the Eagles lost one of their most versatile players to injury. Running back Darren Sproles went down with a wrist injury early in the Week 3 matchup with the Giants and won't return to the game, according to Alec Nathan of Bleacher Report.

Before suffering the wrist injury that ultimately ruled him out of the game, Sproles had three carries for 11 yards. The Eagles were leading 7-0 at the time of the injury, but that has since changed with the Giants coming back to life to tie the game at 14 with Odell Beckham Jr. catching his second touchdown pass of the day.

Although losing Sproles to injury hurts the Eagles offensively, newcomer LeGarrette Blount has played well in his season in Philadelphia and has put up solid numbers in Week 3. Blount has carried the football 11 times for 61 yards and a touchdown. Wendell Smallwood has also helped by sharing the workload out of the backfield with eight carries for 38 yards.
