While the league continues to take unprecedented action ahead of the 2020 NFL season, players are figuring out ways to honor the death of George Floyd. Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is among those that plan on making sure that his memory lives on.

The Eagles star recently took to Instagram to show off his new cleats inspired by Floyd.

Jackson has been one of the NFL's most outspoken players when it comes to addressing the issues of racial injustice. The death of Floyd while in custody of Minneapolis police officers has sparked countless protests throughout United States. It is clear that the players no longer plan on holding anything back when it comes to honoring his memory and enforcing new change.

The NFL has also announced its plans to pledge $250 million over the next ten years to help fight systematic racism. After all, this is a league that is comprised mostly of African-American players and it is imperative that they help provide the necessary platform in order to make it come to fruition. Commissioner Roger Goodell has since acknowledged that the league did not to a good enough job of doing it in the first place.

Players around the league have already indicated that protests during the national anthem this season have become an inevitability. Meanwhile, cleats like the one Jackson is debuting could become the new norm outside of the NFL's “My Cause My Cleats” campaign that allows players to show their commitment to the causes that are most important to them.
