The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to stay in the win column as they get set to host the Chicago Bears in Week 9. Fortunately, it appears some much-needed reinforcements will be on the way in the form of wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

Jackson has been sidelined since Week 2 with an abdominal injury. According to ESPN's Tim McManus, he is reportedly hopeful that he will be good to go against the Bears:

We’ll see how practice goes, but DeSean Jackson enters the week optimistic about his chances of playing Sunday, I’m told.

This is certainly an encouraging update for Jackson. His absence has left a notable void in the Eagles' receiving corps for the bulk of the 2019 NFL season. It is safe to say that the prospect of having him back is good news for quarterback Carson Wentz.

Jackson enjoyed a monstrous season debut in his return to Philadelphia by hauling in eight receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns against the Washington Redskins. Unfortunately, the injury in the following game has kept him from keeping his stellar start to the year going.

Regardless, there is no question that the speedster's ability to take the top off of opposing defenses has been sorely missed by the offense.

The Eagles have taken a rather cautious approach with Jackson's return, however, they will need all the help they can get in order to put some points up against this formidable Bears defense.

His activity in practice throughout the week should help to solidify the veteran's optimism.
