The Philadelphia Eagles signed wide receiver DeSean Jackson this offseason. Returning back to the franchise that he started his career with, Jackson had himself a massive game in Week 1.

Against the Washington Redskins, Jackson went off for 154 yards and two touchdowns on eight receptions.

However, that's all he's been able to do. An abdomen injury has kept him out of action since then. He remained sidelined on Friday for practice heading into their Week 6 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.

Jackson was an immediate success in his return to the Eagles. Therefore, not having him since that first week just seems cruel. It was like he hadn't missed a step since leaving. Now, it feels like the Philadelphia offense is missing something, and he is likely the piece.

The Eagles are 3-2 on the year and have had some recent offensive struggles. Now they face a very tough Minnesota defense.

The Vikings are also 3-2 on the year and have a defense that has allowed the fourth fewest total yards per game (292.4) and fifth fewest points per game (14.6) so far.

Having one of your most explosive weapons would certainly help a team against such a shutdown defense. It doesn't look like the Eagles will have that weapon in Week 6 though. With the game just two days away from their Friday practice, it's hard to imagine Jackson going from “not at practice” to playing.

It looks like the Eagles will have to get through this week without their dangerous deep threat. In fact, it's unclear if they will even have him available to them next week for their Sunday Night Football clash with the Dallas Cowboys.
