The 2019 NFL campaign was not kind to Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

He suffered a core muscle injury in Week 2, attempted to return in Week 9, re-aggravated the injury and was then forced to undergo season-ending surgery.

However, Jackson is prepared to return with a vengeance in 2020:

“I’ll be back stronger than ever,” Jackson told Thai Floyd of Bar Non Media while taking in an XFL game in Tampa.

Jackson added that his rehab is going pretty well:

“Feels good,” Jackson said. “Being able to have like three months to train and build and do rehab, so I feel like now I’m back at 100 percent. So just trying to train and take it day by day without rushing and getting back right. But I have a lot of time on my hands so trying to prepare and take every step I can to get back to where I need to be.”

The Eagles signed Jackson for his second go-around with the club last offseason, hoping he and Alshon Jeffery would comprise a reliable receiver duo for Carson Wentz.

Instead, both wide outs ended the season on the injured reserve list.

Jackson was originally selected by Philadelphia in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft and spent his first six seasons in Philly, making three Pro Bowl appearances before signing with the Washington Redskins in 2014.

The 33-year-old spent three years with the Redskins and then linked up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a couple of years before re-joining the Eagles.

Jackson has not made a Pro Bowl since 2013, the final year of his first stint with the Birds.
