The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to stay in the win column as they get set to host the Chicago Bears in Week 9. It seems they are planning on welcoming wide receiver DeSean Jackson back into the mix.

Jackson has been sidelined since Week 2 with an abdomen injury. Head coach Doug Pederson expects him to get some solid practice time in heading into their matchup with the Bears, via Olivia Schaller of the team's official website:

“DeSean has been looking really good,” head coach Doug Pederson said. “He’s been working hard through his rehab. I expect to get him into practice today and see where he’s at physically.”

Pederson added that he is hopeful that Jackson will be good to go against the Bears.

“I’m optimistic and we’ll take it day by day,” Pederson said about Jackson’s status for the Week 9 matchup.

This is certainly an encouraging update for Jackson since he had also reportedly been optimistic about the prospect of playing coming into Week 9. There is no question that his absence has left a notable void in the receiving corps. It is safe to say that the Eagles will need all the help they can get in order to put some points up against this formidable Bears' defense.

Jackson was nothing short of spectacular in the season opener versus the Washington Redskins after hauling in eight receptions for 54 yards and two touchdowns. His skill set as a deep threat would bring a much-needed element of explosiveness to the offense that it has sorely missed this year.

Although all signs point to Jackson making his return, his activity in practice throughout the week should help further solidify his status.
