The Philadelphia Eagles are continuing to play it safe with respect to veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported Jackson is undergoing more tests for a hamstring injury, though the team believes it is a minor issue. Garafolo also reported his status for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers is uncertain.

Injuries have been a thorn in Jackson's side recently.

The former Pro Bowler missed all but three games during the 2019 season due to an abdomen issue that eventually required core-muscle surgery.

While Jackson has suited up for each of Philadelphia's first three games, he sustained the injury on Sunday and was essentially lifted from the contest after hauling in just two catches for 11 yards.

The Eagles can hardly afford another setback at the wide receiver position.

Jackson was not the only pass-catcher to suffer an injury on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, as tight end Dallas Goedert also left with an ankle injury.

Goedert could miss multiple weeks, and the Eagles are already without rookie wide receiver Jalen Reagor after the first-round pick suffered a thumb injury. Moreover, Alshon Jeffrey has yet to make his 2020 debut, though he is apparently getting closer to a return.

The Eagles and Carson Wentz have had a hard time moving the ball through the air. Wentz threw two more interceptions against the Bengals, and he is completing under 60 percent of his passes for the season.

Philadelphia will hope to receive some good news with respect to Jackson's status, especially given it faces a tough test in the Niners this weekend.
