The Alabama Crimson Tide are well represented in the camp of the Philadelphia Eagles. Not only is former Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts expected to take over the QB1 role for the Eagles in Week 1 of the 2020-21 NFL season, but Philly will also have a shiny new weapon downfield in  Alabama product in the form of wide receiver DeVonta Smith.

Smith, who was selected 10th overall by the Eagles in the 2021 NFL Draft back in April, spoke candidly about his reunion with former Alabama teammate in the NFL, via John Clark of NBCS Philadelphia.

“It’s great to have that connection come back. It just feels like old times. Like back in college”

Hurts turned pro a year earlier than Smith, as the signal-caller was taken in the second round (53rd overall) by the Eagles in the 2020 NFL Draft. He and Smith played together for Nick Saban's program from 2017 to 2018, with Hurts leaving Tuscaloosa for Norman in 2019 to play for the Oklahoma Sooners, where he put up an electrifying season under center, which had him going runner-up in the Heisman Trophy voting behind Joe Burrow of the LSU Tigers.

As for Smith, he's expected to have a significant role right away for the Eagles' offense that greatly disappointed in 2020. That season, Philadelphia was only 29th in passing yards per game and last in completion percentage.
