The Philadelphia Eagles have had an incredibly successful run the past couple of years. Two seasons ago, of course, they won the Super Bowl with Nick Foles. Last season they won another playoff game, again with Foles. But even though they're clearly doing something right, that doesn't mean they're immune to switching things up.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson has had a lot of the same players over the past few years, and he doesn't want his message to get stale. With the amount of success the Eagles have had, it might be hard to motivate them, and Pederson is looking to nip that in the bud. Heading into his fourth season as coach, Pederson is switching up the team's offseason program to keep things fresh.

“Yeah, you’ve got to find creative ways to motivate,” Pederson said. “I think you’ve got to find creative ways to utilize your time in the spring so it doesn’t get mundane and monotonous; we’re doing the same thing over. So there’s going to be a couple changes. Not major things, but some things with the schedule that we’re going to do a little differently,” Pederson said, via Zach Berman of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Pederson isn't stopping with the offseason workouts, as he revealed that he's also going to tinker with OTA practices.

“I’m exploring some ways to really maximize our OTA practices, those 10 practices we get, and really dive into more situations,” Pederson said. “I started two years ago with that, got a little better last year. But I want to really dive into the situational stuff in OTAs, prepare our players for those opportunities in games. Those are all things I’m looking at moving forward,” he explained.

Given what Pederson has accomplished already, it's hard to doubt him now. He's proven to be one of the most forward-thinking coaches in the league and deserves some leeway to operate as he sees fit.

The best and smartest teams are always looking to innovate and adapt rather than get caught sleeping at the wheel. It seems like a definite positive thing that Pederson is taking these measures to avoid getting stale.
