As if we needed any more evidence that there is not a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia, Eagles head coach confirmed as much on Tuesday when he said that Carson Wentz is his signal-caller going forward.

That likely means the end of the Nick Foles era in Philadelphia.

Foles has a $20 million team option that the Eagles have until the middle of February to exercise. Should Philly decide not to pick up the option, Foles will become a free agent.

Of course, that does not mean the Eagles have to let Foles walk for free.

They can always exercise the option and then trade him, or slap a franchise tag on him and try to trade him that way.

As a matter of fact, one of the two above scenarios may actually be the most likely course of events, as Foles will surely draw a heavy amount of interest from other teams.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are one squad that has been rumored to be interested in Foles, which makes plenty of sense given the fact that they made the AFC Championship Game a year ago.

In five starts this season, Foles threw for 1,413 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions while completing 72.3 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 96.

He then led the Eagles to a Wild Card Round playoff win over the Chicago Bears, completing 25 of his 40 passes for 266 yards, two touchdowns, and a couple of picks before losing to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round of the playoffs this past weekend.
