The Philadelphia Eagles have had less than perfect attendance at voluntary workouts this off-season, and coach Doug Pederson has made clear that it must change once mandatory minicamp kicks off. Left tackle Jason Peters, right tackle Lane Johnson, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, and safety Malcolm Jenkins have all missed voluntary workouts, and that isn't going to fly with Pederson next week.

Pederson said on Monday that the expectation is for every Eagles player to be in attendance and it's clear that there will be punishment if they aren't. Pederson knows that right now he has to focus on the players in attendance because they are voluntary, but next week that will change and his thoughts will also change about players if they decide to skip.

Pederson was also asked if he has talked with Jenkins about his plans for next week and Pederson said he hasn't so there is no guarantee that he will show up. Jenkins has two years left on his deal, but the thought is he would like a new contract and that he may hold out until a new offer is extended to him.

Why the other three guys aren't attending voluntary minicamp isn't exactly clear, but some players have off-season workouts they go through on their own.

Until they don't show up, the expectation should be that all players will be attending, but if they don't, Pederson might have some interesting comments about the players. This is a storyline that should be followed the next week closely.
