The Philadelphia Eagles have kept a close eye on Pro Bowl quarterback Carson Wentz throughout his recovery from a torn ACL and LCL over the last several months since the injury occurred back in December. He has been on a steady path toward his goal of being able to get back on the field for the season opener of the 2018 campaign.

Despite all that, head coach Doug Pederson has voiced that the team will not push Wentz to be ready on their terms but rather will be waiting patiently until he physically proves that he is ready to go, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.

The Eagles have continued to voice throughout this process patience Wentz, especially since he is making a return from a serious injury that typically takes around nine months to a year to fully heal. The current timetable that he has set out for himself would put him just on track to be just over eight months to get back on the field for the season opener.

There is no rush by any means from the organization as the team is more than willing to let Nick Foles handle the temporary starting duties due to what he showed in the playoffs by helping lead the team to the Super Bowl. He is a proven quarterback that has demonstrated that he can carry the offense with his arm if needed.

All of this has put less pressure on Wentz to hurry to get back as the Eagles want to make sure that this injury doesn't linger as he's viewed as the long-term solution under center given the progress he made in the 2017 campaign putting together an MVP-caliber year before his season ended. In other words, Philadelphia is more than willing to give him the just time to get back in the fold when he is ready.
