Quarterback Carson Wentz has certainly made an impression on the Baltimore Ravens defense. The two teams have been participating in joint practices for the last couple days, and it appears that Wentz is showing out. Baltimore safety Earl Thomas had particularly high praise for the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback.

“I would tell you, in this league there’s a small pool of guys that you would classify at an elite level, and I think he’s definitely in that pool.” Thomas said to NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Earning Earl Thomas's respect is no small feat. The former Seattle Seahawk is a six-time Pro Bowler and a three-time All-Pro. During his years with the famous Legion of Boom, Thomas was one of the best ball-hawks in football. After breaking his leg in Seattle last year, he decided to take his talents to Baltimore. Baltimore has ranked in the top ten in total defense 10 of the last 16 years, and Thomas looks set to help continue the tradition.

While Thomas has already had an illustrious career, Wentz is set to have one of his own. The Eagles signal-caller was having an MVP season in 2017 before an ACL tear ended his year. Last year, despite only playing 11 games, Wentz racked up over 3,000 yards and 21 scores.

It comes as no surprise that Carson Wentz impressed the Baltimore defense. If Wentz can keep up a high level of play, the Eagles are an easy pick to win the NFC, and make a trip down to Miami in February.
