Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie is a fixture at all his team’s games, whether at home or on the road. This is why it was surprising not to see Lurie at the Eagles’ Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns, which was held a FirstEnergy Stadium, the Browns’ home stadium.

Officially, the 69-year-old owner couldn’t make it to the Eagles’ road game because he was only being cautious because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and had plans to visit his mother for Thanksgiving. But according to reports, the unofficial reason was because of his frustration with his team’s play.

In a report by the The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, Lurie’s absence from the game against the Browns, which they lost, was believed to be “an extension of his feelings.” While he is expected to be present at Lincoln Financial Field when the Eagles face the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, McLane reports Lurie has also left team practices and workouts early out of disgust.

Lurie’s feelings are shared by fans, as the Eagles have struggled to a 3-6-1 record this season and are coming off back-to-back losses to the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns. After leading the NFC East for some time, Philadelphia watched as the Washington Football Team took over the division lead with a 41-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving to move up to 4-7.

The Eagles still have a chance to take back the division lead and make the playoffs for the fourth straight season, but to do that, they’ll need to win more of their remaining games. Hopefully, they’ll also have Lurie’s support in their remaining games.
