Since tearing both his ACL and LCL back in December, Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl quarterback Carson Wentz has continued to take significant strides forward in his recovery. He has picked up that pace over the last few months with his focus on reaching the target date of being ready to go by the season opener.

There has only been more fuel added to the fire in that quest as his teammates and coaches have just spoken glowingly about the progress he has made in his rehab. Cornerback Jalen Mills is the latest to chime in with that sentiment during a recent interview on Pro Football Talk Live stating that Wentz has been throwing the ball like he had prior to the injuries.

“He looked like Carson Wentz,” Mills said. “Of course he wasn’t scrambling and he didn’t rush out of the pocket, but when he was sitting in the pocket during seven-on-seven drills when he was allowed, he was out there throwing strikes, doing things he always does.”

Wentz may not be to the point where he could be declared ready for Week 1 of the regular season, he has continued to improve toward that point the closer it draws. There are still several more steps that he must first get past with training camp being another one of those hurdles ahead.

The Eagles haven't placed any pressure on Wentz to be ready by the start of the season, which may be in large part due to the presence of Nick Foles. Beyond that, the team also realizes how valuable he will be to the organization's long-term success over the next decade. He is a special talent that has shown he can lead the Eagles to great heights while performing like one of the top talents at his position.

At this point, these comments from Mills should give the Eagles more confidence that their star quarterback is getting closer to his return on the field.
