Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has battled with left tackle Jason Peters for the entirety of his nine-year career.

But the Eagles allowed Peters to explore the free-agent market this offseason, and it is no guarantee they re-sign him for the 2020 campaign.

The possibility of playing without Peters on the line is unnatural for Kelce, who lauded Peters for his contributions to the franchise through the years, via Mike Kaye of NJ.com.

“It is hard to imagine potentially playing without Jason Peters, the personality and the guy that he’s been to this organization, but at some point, it’s going to be the end for all of us,” Kelce said, via NJ.com. “I don’t know what’s going to happen. Again, I’d love to play with the guy again, but obviously this is in the hands of the people who are making important decisions and cap decisions and all these decisions that are way over my head.”

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network previously reported the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, and Denver Broncos were among the other teams interested in signing Peters.

However, Browns offensive line coach Bill Callahan said Thursday the team expects rookie Jedrick Wills will be their starting left tackle.

The Washington Redskins might be another team interested in Peters after they traded Trent Williams to the San Francisco 49ers.

Still, Kelce can remain somewhat optimistic about a Peters return to Philly. Derrick Gunn of NBC Sports Philadelphia previously reported the Eagles and Peters had a mutual interest in a reunion. Then again, there has not been much news on that front since.

If Kelce's days of playing alongside Peters are over, he made sure to give Peters his just due as a leader and teammate in the Eagles organization.
