Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters was forced to leave this past Sunday's game against the Houston Texans with an apparent quad injury. There is hope that Peters will be able to play this Sunday in a game the Eagles can not afford to lose.

According to head coach Doug Pederson via Dave Zangaro of Pro Football Talk, he believes Peters has a good shot at suiting up this week against the Washington Redskins.

“We’ll see today. JP felt good,” Pederson said. “We’ll see how he gets through the walkthrough today. And still would expect him to be in the lineup Sunday.”

Peters is a part of a solid Philadelphia offensive line, but unfortunately, he has had his fair share of injuries in the past and appears to be recovering from a nagging quad injury ahead of Week 17's matchup.

Peters has been regarded as a future Hall of Famer, and his talent speaks for itself. Despite last season's short season the Eagles were fortunate enough to win a Super Bowl and had enough support on the offensive line to relieve Peters while he was out. Although the Eagles are incapable of winning the NFC East this season due to the Dallas Cowboys success, the Eagles look rejuvenated with backup quarterback Nick Foles.

If Peters is out there this Sunday, he obviously gives the offense a gigantic boost, so Philly has to be keeping a watchful eye on Peters' status. The Eagles face a more than attainable task against a struggling Redskins team.
