The Philadelphia Eagles are going to be without Andre Dillard for the 2020 season and there's a possibility that Jason Peters moves back to left tackle. While Doug Pederson listed the veteran lineman as a possible replacement, Peters wants more money to play left tackle, per the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Earlier this week, Dillard suffered a biceps injury and it was discovered that is severe enough to keep him sidelined for the entire 2020 season. Dillard, who was entering his second year with the Eagles, was expected to replace Peters at left tackle.

On the other hand, Philadelphia allowed Peters to test free agency this offseason. Instead of signing elsewhere, Peters waited for the right opportunity to return to the Eagles. And after the season-ending injury to Brandon Brooks, Philadelphia retained him to play right guard.

However, with Dillard sidelined, the Eagles now need someone to fill in at left tackle. Besides Peters, Pederson named Jordan Mailata, Matt Pryor, and Jack Driscoll as viable options to replace Dillard.

When Philadelphia signed Peters, they inked him to a one-year, $3 million deal with the idea he'd slot in at guard. Therefore, if the team wants him to move back to his old position, he wants to be paid like it.

From 2009-2019, the veteran held the starting left tackle spot for the Eagles. Altogether, he made seven Pro Bowls and earned two All-Pro honors in that 11-year span.

In recent years, we've seen offensive tackles — particularly left tackles — receive lucrative contracts to play the position. In light of that, if the Eagles want Peters to transition back to left tackle, they may need to give him a significant raise.
