Jason Peters remains unsigned after the Philadelphia Eagles allowed him to test free agency this offseason. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Peters intends to play next season despite the lack of interest in free agency.

Since entering free agency, Peters has made it clear he'd rather return to the Eagles than sign elsewhere. Still, it remains to be seen if Philadelphia shares the same interest of a reunion next season.

Nevertheless, according to Derrick Gunn of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Peters has actually rejected offers from other teams. Of course, the purpose of rejecting offers is to give him an opportunity to return to the Eagles in 2020. Gunn said to Jon Marks and Ike Reese on the 94WIP Marks & Reese Show on Thursday,

“There's no rush on Jason Peters' part and there's no rush on the Eagles' part because nobody basically can do anything.”

Before this offseason, Peters spent the past 11 seasons with the Eagles as their starting left tackle. Throughout those 11 seasons, Peters was able to make seven Pro Bowls and was received two All-Pro honors. At just 28 years old, he is still a reliable left tackle in the NFL.

When the Eagles let Peters test free agency, they did so with the intention of having Andre Dillard replace him. Dillard was Philadelphia's first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and he started in four games for the Eagles a season ago.

Despite wanting Dillard to become their future left tackle, both Peters and the Eagles could negotiate a deal for 2020. Unless Philadelphia shows no interest in bringing him back, Peters is willing to turn down other offers to play this season.
