Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews revealed the hilarious reason he became a father during his time in Buffalo, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Last season, Matthews appeared in 10 games for the Buffalo Bills. He dealt with injuries constantly and only recorded 282 receiving yards on the year. After returning to the Eagles, Matthews said his first child came as a result of boredom:

There's more to do in the City of Brotherly Love, so Matthews and his girlfriend Cheyna Williams apparently won't be popping out another baby anytime soon. They welcomed a baby boy named Josiah into the world in August.

Matthews was selected with the No. 42 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Eagles. He had three productive seasons with the team, recording 67 receptions for 872 yards and eight touchdowns in his rookie campaign. His best season came the next year, when he fell just short of a 1,000-yard season by racking up 85 receptions for 997 receiving yards and eighth touchdowns.

Matthews never recorded less than 800 receiving yards in a season until his short stint in Buffalo. Earlier this year, he spent some time with the New England Patriots. However, he was cut in early August due to a hamstring injury that bothered him during camp. Matthews is the latest in a string of wide receiver signings in an attempt to aid the Eagles' thinning personnel.

The Eagles have been bringing back lots of familiar faces to assist their title defense this year. Matthews was signed after a hamstring injury delayed Jeremy Maclin's scheduled workout. If Maclin recovers quickly, it's possible that we could see him suiting up for the Eagles at some point in the near future. Carson Wentz will need all the help he can get as he recovers from his own injury.
