If you thought we would be talking about Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill this season, you have great wisdom inside that cranium of yours. If you thought we would be doing this in terms of his kicking ability, then you need to tell me what numbers to play for the lottery.

Anyway, over the weekend the reserve defensive talent was forced to attempt some kicks for the Eagles. It went shockingly well for Kamu Grugier-Hill, as he kicked the ball off four times, recording a touchback in the process.

The Eagles kept going for two-point conversions, as opposed to extra points, out of fear of that the linebacker would shank some attempts.

Everyone expected me to do bad anyways,” Grugier-Hill said, via Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “So I [didn’t] have anything to lose.”

There was other good reason to be fearful over letting him kick some balls during a meaningful game. During the pregame routine, the linebacker apparently whacked a few balls in the stands.

“Oh yeah,” linebacker Najee Goode. “He definitely hit somebody. He hit a fan and the fan stood up.”

“I was like, ‘Oh this is going to be a little rough,'” Grugier-Hill said. “After that, I kind of got a hold of it.”

Philadelphia will unlikely need Grugier-Hill to do a lot more kicking the rest of the season (barring unforeseen calamities, of course). This is unfortunate, as one of the more entertaining aspects of football is when giant non-kickers are tasked with kicking a football.
