Could the Philadelphia Eagles bring back LeSean McCoy? At least a couple of Eagles players want to see it happen.

Both Lane Johnson and DeSean Jackson support the idea of McCoy returning to Philadelphia. Both players played with McCoy during his original tenure with the Eagles from 2009 until 2014.

“I want to see it,” said offensive tackle Johnson, according to Mike Kaye of NJ Advance Media. “You already know how I feel.”

Wide receiver Jackson agreed with Johnson, although he was a bit more pointed in what he actually expects to occur:

“If we were going off how we feel, there would have been a lot of (expletive) we would have already been seeing, right?” Jackson said.

With Philadelphia in the market for a veteran running back, bringing in McCoy makes sense. The Eagles pursued Carlos Hyde before he ultimately signed with the Seattle Seahawks, and there have also been rumors about potential interest in Devonta Freeman.

Of course, McCoy would be a different animal for Philly fans.

Why? Well, because McCoy spent his first six NFL seasons with the Eagles between 2009 and 2014, making three Pro Bowl appearances and earning a couple of First-Team All-Pro selections. It before he was traded to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso in March of 2015.

McCoy went on to spend the next four years with the Bills, making three straight trips to the Pro Bowl in his first three years with the club. However, in 2018, McCoy showed severe signs of decline, rushing for just 514 yards and three touchdowns while averaging a meager 3.2 yards per carry.

His shaky production that season resulted in Buffalo ultimately releasing him before the start of the 2019 campaign. McCoy proceeded to link up with the Kansas City Chiefs, playing in 13 games and tallying 465 yards and four scores on the ground.
