Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson believes there is going to be a risk to returning to football because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but he is confident the NFL and NFLPA will come up with a plan that is going make it an acceptable level of risk for anyone.

Johnson believes that right now, even going out to a grocery store is a risk, but people have taken enough precautions to limit how big of a risk it is. With the NFL he believes the same thing, where the risks can be mitigated. Johnson said, via Pro Football Talk:

“Ultimately, it’s a risk that we’re all willing to take to go outside your house or whatever you’re doing, going shopping. I’ve been doing a pretty good job of staying in the house, doing my social distancing protocols … Yeah, with everybody it’s going to be a risk that we’re going to have to take and see what happens.”

Right now it's unclear what kind of protocols the league will put in place, but the NFL is going to do everything in their power to try to make sure the 2o20 season takes place and that everyone is safe. Johnson feels like the NFL can proceed as planned, but other players like Malcolm Jenkins have spoken out about feeling uncomfortable.
