LeGarrette Blount thought that the Philadelphia Eagles signed him in the offseason to help the team boost its rushing attack. Two games into the season, that has yet to manifest on the Eagles’ usage of Blount, especially in Week 2 when the running back registered zero carries and had just one in a 27-20 road loss Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Interviewed in the locker room by Dave Zang aro of CSNPhilly.com following the loss, Blount didn’t sound too optimistic about his role with the team moving forward and instead suggested that it’s better to ask Philadelphia head coach Doug Pederson about his status with the team.

“You gotta ask Doug,” Blount said after the Eagles' 27-20 loss. “I don't know things are going to go next week. I can't really predict the future. That's something for him to answer.”

Against the Chiefs, Blount was massively outplayed by his backfield mates. Darren Sproles had 48 rushing yards on 10 carries, while Wendell Smallwood had four yards on the ground on three carries.

Blount is playing on a one-year contract worth $1.25 million for the Eagles after playing a big role in the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl run last season in which he racked up 1,161 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns across 16 games.

Blount aside, this is also especially frustrating for his fantasy owners, who may have to wait for the Eagles’ backfield rotation to define itself before deciding what to do with the Eagles’ running back. Blount and the Eagles get the New York Giants in Week 3.
