The Philadelphia Eagles have seemingly been thrown into the market for possible help in the backfield after starter Jay Ajayi suffered a season-ending torn ACL during Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and LeSean McCoy is a desirable target.

His previous ties to the franchise after spending his first six years in the league in Philadelphia make the move seem perfect. With that in mind, former Eagles great Brian Westbrook has taken to social media to add to that speculation that has led to McCoy responding back to his former teammate

There is a clear desire from Westbrook to get McCoy back with the team given their need in the running game. Philadelphia has a need to add more production out of the backfield, which the 30-year-old could more than provide given what he offers on the table as a dual-threat option that can effectively impact the game as both a runner and receiver. Although things had ended on a bit of a rough note, the organization and fan base would more than welcome him back with open arms given that he can prove to be a huge part of the puzzle in helping them compete to reach the Super Bowl once again.

McCoy is off to a slow start out of the gate to the 2018 season rushing for 170 rushing yards along with 10 catches for 64 receiving yards through five games played. He is coming off his best performance of the year recording 85 rushing yards on 24 carries along with two catches for 23 receiving yards in the 13-12 win over the Tennessee Titans. McCoy certainly has plenty in the tank to be a major factor in the backfield for the Bills or any other team were he to get traded.

Nonetheless, this only sparks up more chatter around the possibility that McCoy could be a realistic trade target for the Eagles.
