According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Mike Wallace might have suffered a season-ending ankle injury in their Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Wallace was seen in a boot after the game, but needs further evaluation before the team gives a timetable for his return. He just signed a one-year $4 million deal this year.

The defending Super Bowl champions have continued to struggle due to injuries to their receiving corps. A bevy of receivers have been signed and released by the Eagles over the course of the past few weeks. Their top receiving option, Alshon Jeffery, missed his second consecutive regular season game this week. Mack Hollins has also yet to appear in a regular season game this year.

The Eagles were also without Darren Sproles, an explosive scat back that is a threat as a traditional runner or receiver. At 1-1, there is not any real danger of their season going down the dumps just yet. However, they should continue to search the market to find a replacement for Wallace.

Luckily for the Eagles, the Browns appear to be shopping Josh Gordon. While he might not be an immediate asset to their team, he still has the talent to be a top-five receiver in the NFL. Carson Wentz should be cleared for contact soon. If he looks good in his return, perhaps it will be enough to convince Dez Bryant to finally settle down with them.

Their impending matchup with the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3 will be an important win for them to get.
