Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Mike Wallace could be over half a million dollars richer by Monday by simply stepping on a scale. That’s because the veteran has a contract bonus worth $585,000 that he’ll get if he weighs in at less than 250 lbs. on the first day of the team’s offseason program, per ESPN’s Field Yates.

Yates also notes that Wallace is listed at 200 lbs. on the roster. So unless Wallace goes on an almighty binge from now until Monday, he’ll likely get that incentive with more than a few pounds to spare.

Wallace recently tweeted that he needs to lose five pounds, but that’s most likely a joke on his part. While he did once fail a conditioning test when he signed with the Ravens a couple years ago, it’s hard to imagine Wallace getting that out of shape, especially with OTAs coming soon.

Wallace, 31, is about to enter his first season with the Eagles after signing a one-year, $5 million deal in free agency last month. He spent the past two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, leading them in receiving yards during both years. He had 52 catches for 748 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Wallace is now part of an Eagles receiving corps which features Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor. He was signed to take the place of the departed Torrey Smith as the team’s resident deep threat. But in order to be that speedy receiver he’s been for most of his career, he better make sure he is nowhere near 250 lbs. during his time in Philly.
