Bad news in Philadelphia, as running back Miles Sanders has suffered a foot injury. According to both Sanders himself and head coach Doug Pederson, the injury is nothing too serious.  The Eagles' second round pick didn't finish practice, but is expected back relatively soon.

Although this doesn't seem like a major injury, the first training camp is always important for a rookie player. Sanders was selected in the second round out of Penn State, and has plenty of competition coming into camp. Wendell Smallwood has been with the Eagles for several years, and profiles as a capable receiving back.

Projected starter Jordan Howard has proven himself to be one of the better backs in the league during his time with the Chicago Bears. Josh Adams, formerly an undrafted rookie, actually led the Eagles in rushing last year. Last but not least, there's Darren Sproles, the ageless return specialist and scat back.

It's true that a couple of these backs will likely be cut before the season, and the road to snaps is not easy for Sanders. Despite being a capable runner and receiver, it's possible that this injury paves the way for others to take snaps.

No matter who's taking snaps at running back, Philly promises to have an explosive offense. The wide receiver trio of Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, and Nelson Agholor is nearly unguardable. Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert form a great one-two punch at tight end. Combined with one of the best offensive lines in the league and Carson Wentz, Eagles fans should have high expectations heading into this year.
