After a bizarre play-calling scheme for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3 that saw their starting running back Miles Sanders only get two total carries, the lead-dog for Philly spoke about the outing as the team gets ready for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Per The Philadelphia Inquirer, the starting back for the Eagles is controlling what he can.

“I didn’t dwell on it too much,” Sanders said, via Josh Tolentino of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “It is what it is. I can only control what I can control. The game was pretty much out of hand early. So I can see how the game plan didn’t go as planned. There was kind of a panic from the whole team based on how the game went.”

The Eagles handed the ball off to running backs just three total times against the Dallas Cowboys while Jalen Hurts threw it 39 times. That isn't going to be a recipe for success for Philly this year.

Sanders didn't lash out or sound angry but provided more context to a blueprint he thinks would work for the Eagles going forward.

Sanders was reluctant to point any fingers, but when asked about the ingredients to a potent offense, he offered his opinion.

“Not necessarily for myself — but I do believe to have a successful offense,” Sanders said, “you have to run the ball.”

“As far as Miles getting touches, there’s no doubt, we’ve got to get our playmakers the ball. He’s shown that he’s a playmaker, whether it’s in screen game, whether it’s out of the backfield or getting the ball.”
