Since joining the team last season, Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders has already earned a spot in the team's offensive rotation. With no veteran additions made during the offseason, he is looking to embrace a bigger role and solidify himself as the Eagles' RB1 for the upcoming season.

Sanders, along with incoming third-year running back Boston Scott and Super Bowl LII champion Corey Clement, figure to be the Eagles' main ball-carriers:

“It’s making us mature faster, growing up faster just knowing really that we’re the only two backs that played last year,” Sanders said, via Martin Frank of the Delaware News Journal. “And now we have younger guys in the room, plus Corey . . . Just us knowing we’re together and we’re the older guys, so having to be more vocal. Just making sure we know what we’re doing, setting examples, and being those role models.”

Sanders made quite a name for himself during his three-year run as a Penn State Nittany Lion from 2016-2018. He was selected to several collegiate team selections including inclusion in the second-team All-Big Ten in 2018. He was then drafted by the Eagles with the 53rd pick in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

He finished his rookie season with 818 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns to go along with 50 receptions for 509 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. Sanders was also named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2019.

His solid play also led him to set several Eagles' franchise records to his name. He had the most rushing yards by a rookie with 818, most yards from scrimmage by a rookie with 1,327, and most all-purpose yards by a rookie with 1,641.

He hopes to continue the upward trend in the coming season and ultimately become a difference-maker in the team's offensive attack. His development will be key for the Eagles as they continue with their pursuit of a trip to the Super Bowl in 2020.
