In his first career start in the Super Bowl, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has shown much poise on the grandest stage.

This has seen him make his first career touchdown reception late in the second quarter, which made him just the third quarterback in league history to accomplish this feat.

It was a part of a strong first half for the 29-year-old that saw him complete for 13-of-22 for 215 yards with a touchdown and an interception. His only mistake came on a deep ball that was bobbled by wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, who was the recipient of his only touchdown pass in the first half.

Foles' steady has played a key part in giving the Eagles a sizable advantage as his touchdown reception was a gutsy call on fourth-and-goal on the one-yard line. It was a perfectly designed play that seemed to catch the Patriots' defense off guard as he was able to roll into the end zone untouched.

The Eagles will need him to continue to be a constant factor with his arm by moving the ball down the field and testing the Patriots' secondary. His primary target has been Jeffery, who had three catches on seven targets for 73 receiving yards. This facet of the game plan will likely remain the same as he has proven to be a difficult matchup for New England.

Philadelphia has also received steady production from the running game with 107 total rushing yards on 13 carries from their running back committee. LeGarrette Blount has led the charge in that regard with 58 yards on just four carries and touchdown on a 21-yard run midway through the second quarter.

Although the Patriots trail by 10 points, there should be a major halftime adjustment that will only further emphasize the importance of each possession that should make for an entertaining finish.
