Quarterback Nick Foles has helped lead the Philadelphia Eagles to their first Super Bowl appearance since 2004. However, there isn't clarity on Foles' future with the franchise beyond this season.

The 29-year-old addressed the situation, stating that he desires to return to the team in 2018 regardless of the role, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“Absolutely. I’m grateful to be here, to be part of this organization,” Foles said Tuesday. “I can’t wait to play the game. After the game, that’s where you have time to sort of reflect on the year, and that’s what we’ll do. I’ll spend time with my family and use that family time. The future will take care of itself. I’m grateful to have signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and be here. I’m excited to watch Carson get healthy and get back on his feet and hopefully being part of him getting back to where he was.”

Foles has one more year left on his two-year, $11 million deal that will pay him a $4 million base salary and $3 million in bonuses. Given how he has played in place of second-year quarterback Carson Wentz, the Eagles will likely look to keep him aboard to keep stability in case he is needed to step in at any point in the 2018 campaign.

The Arizona product is coming off a huge performance in the NFC Championship game, completing 26-of-33 passes for 352 yards and three touchdown passes while compiling a 141.4 passer rating against the Minnesota Vikings. On top of that, Foles is in a position to potentially lead the Eagles to their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.

Wentz continues to progress in his recovery from the ACL and LCL tear that he suffered in early December, saying he wants to play in the season opener in 2018. However, there is no certainty that he will be able to remain healthy and perform at the same level he did during his breakout 2017 campaign, where he was perceived as the frontrunner for the MVP award.

Unless things drastically change in the coming months, Foles should be an Eagles' uniform next season.
